Biography

Michele Kotis MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner with a specialized focus in gynecologic oncology. After completing nursing school in 2012 at Indiana University Northwest, Michele provided 10 years of patient care and gained experience working as both a nurse reviewer and surgical nurse.   She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing, with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2020.

Her initial clinical experience in gynecologic oncology came during medical school when she did a clinical rotation at Northwest Cancer Centers in Dyer, IN. Here she gained hands-on expertise in diagnosing and managing patients with gynecologic cancers. Michele expanded her experience while working in obstetrics and gynecology at Community Care Center in Munster, IN, and in family medicine NorthShore Health Centers in St. John, IN. Here she managed a wide range of primary healthcare needs, including chronic disease management and diagnostic testing.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Michele has held leadership roles as a Charge Nurse, Nurse Mentor, and Nurse Practitioner Preceptor, where she demonstrated strong teamwork and patient advocacy skills. Known for her critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Michele is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the practice of gynecologic oncology in Northwest Indiana.   While not caring for her patients, Michele loves spending her free time with her family.
